| Sales Representative / Business Development The company: Small subsidiary of an international company with headquarters in Germany. The Australian Head Office is located in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. They are importers and distributors of electrical products to clients throughout Australia and New Zealand. Typical clients include the mining industry, power companies, steel mills, aluminium smelters, agriculture industry etc Products include Power Semi Conductors, Power Electronic Controls, Components used in wind generators, Heating Controls (e.g. as used in chicken breeding sheds), Fans, Fuses, Controls for Pumps, and many electrical products used in the agricultural industry. Overview: To visit smaller clients, and follow up with larger clients to develop the range of resale products with existing and new clients. Prospecting for new clients via research using external sources and utilizing the large in-house database in preference to ‘cold calling.' Developing existing clients to expand the business, in collaboration with the other sales engineers in the company. You must be available to travel to all states on a semi-regular basis, at least 3-4 days monthly, or more, plus attending travelling ‘road-shows' such as to the mining industry in WA. Although you don't need to be an electrical engineer, a technical aptitude is necessary and a basic electrical knowledge is required. First and foremost, this is a Sales role which requires a person with some get-up-and-go to ‘make it happen!'
