Macquarie University Sport & Aquatics are seeking a full time Venue Supervisor to join our dynamic venue operations team at our North Ryde campus.

We are a fast-paced 7-days a week operation, having 900,000 visits to our state-of-the-art Sports & Aquatic Centre, 200,000 visits to our sports fields, 23 schools utilising facilities, 3,400 participants in social sport programs and 18 sporting clubs with over 1,350 participants.

Reporting to the Venue Operations Coordinator the Venue Supervisor position will take responsibility for the safe daily operations of Macquarie University Sport Venues, incorporating the Sport and Aquatic Centre and satellite locations including 8 hectares of Macquarie University Sports Fields, and the Boat Shed at Lane Cove.


The Role

The Venue Supervisor will be responsible for;

  • Providing supervision of Sport & Aquatics venues to ensure safety of all patrons, including Emergency Management;
  • Anticipate and respond to feedback, assisting the operations team to communicate operational information to relevant stakeholders;
  • Carry out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the venue and equipment;
  • Liaise with contractors to coordinate and/or action venue maintenance, equipment repairs and/or service requests, monitoring and inducting contractor’s onsite.


Our venue operates 5.30am – 10.00pm, availability for early morning, evening and weekend work may be required.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 1 years’ previous customer service skills, or similar client facing position
  • Demonstrated experience with emergency response procedures, hazard and incident reporting
  • Royal Lifesaving Pool Lifeguard Licence (or willingness to obtain)
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to gain / renew before commencement)
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Pool Operations Certificate is desirable
