About the business

General Practice Supervisors Australia (GPSA) is a not for profit, non government health charitable organisation. The national representative body unites General Practice (GP) supervisors by promoting recognition for supervision of GP (medical) registrars in training through open and accountable advocacy.

About the role

This role has two main areas of focus:

  • provision of first line, responsive, professional support to GP Supervisors, Practice Managers and other practice staff as required. Many queries relate to the National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of Registrars (NTCER) so it is expected that this role quickly gain an in-depth understanding of this Agreement in order to enable provision of advice to practices. Practices may be dealing with quite complex employment related situations, hence the requirement for this position to have the appropriate qualifications in Human Resources or several years of directly relevant experience in interpreting with Awards/EBAs or similar.
  • provision of a broad range of general administration officer support within the GPSA office and broader organisation.

Skills and experience

Essential

  1. A degree in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent experience which demonstrates highly developed skills in the discipline.
  2. Mandatory experience of at least three years in a Human Resources or similar role which has included interpreting and providing advice on industrial awards or enterprise agreements;
  3. Broad administrative experience and the ability to provide support in the area of event management (conference support, arranging booths and information packs);
  4. Willingness and capability to provide general support to any and all other staff within the team which will, over time, require a familiarity with other roles.

Desirable

  1. Experience within the health, education or a related sector.
