Western Sydney University Early Learning Operations Manager

  • 2 year fixed term contract
  • 32 hours per week

Are you ready to work with a professional and committed Early Childhood team Western Sydney University has 6 services based on the University campus and provide organisation Management structure, exceptional salary and conditions.

Our services operate in a supported environment and are staffed by professional and committed teams. WSUELL services operate with high staff/child ratios and takes a leading role within the local early childhood, family and University community.  In   exchange we are looking for a passionate and committed Early Childhood Professional to contribute to the ongoing success of WSUELL.

As the Operations Manager you will provide leadership to the Service Directors and Management team on Operational matters. Supporting the direction and implementation of the National Quality Framework and reviewing systems, policies and procedures.

 Essential criteria

  • Degree in Early Childhood Teaching and extensive experience in Managing Childrens Services, including previous experience as a service Director or Manager.
  • Working with children check clearance and willingness to obtain a Police check.
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training.
  • DEC approved child protection training certificate.
  • Demonstrated executive level of management and leadership skills including experience in a leadership and motivating staff within an education and care service.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective professional relationships. This will include excellent oral and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish working relationships at differing levels, including Senior University staff.
  • In depth knowledge of Education and Care National Regulation and Law.
  • Experience in development and interpreting policy and reviewing of policies and procedures experience in preparing and managing budgets, monitoring budgets and financial transactions against approved budgets.
  • Proven experience in recruitment and HR Practices.
  • Staff management skills including competency in organisation, conflict resolution, time management and prioritising work load.
  • Demonstrate ability to exercise judgment with regard to the release of information on confidential matters.
  •   Demonstrated understanding of the principles of anti- discrimination, staff and student equity, workplace health and safety and other relevant legislation and the willingness and capacity to implement equal employment opportunity and work place health and safety plans, policy and programs.
  • Sound understanding of work place health and safety and the development and implementation of policy, procedures and standards.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous Experience in overseeing multiple services.
  • Involvement in the preparation and assessment under the National Quality Standard.
  • Development of training and induction programs.

This position is a part time position and will be based on the Universitys Hawkesbury Campus.  The role will also involve travel between campuses on a regular basis. An attractive salary package will be negotiated in accordance with qualifications and experience in accordance with WSU Early Learning Services Enterprise agreement.
