Your role

FourQuarters are currently engaged with a listed pharmaceuticals business with a turnover of $1bn+.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager you will manage a team of 6, mainly transactional finance staff. The Finance team Lead is required to work closely with the Senior Finance Manager and other departments to improve reporting and control functions.

  • Support the business' financial accounting requirements, especially monthly management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory reporting, GST tax return and other compliance tasks;
  • Partner with the various divisions to provide them with timely and accurate reporting and analysis;
  • Ensure the month end closing and all relevant reporting is completed in a timely manner;
  • Ensure the timely preparation of all statutory returns such as statutory accounts and income tax return by providing support and information where required;
  • Perform and review journals and balance sheet reconciliations as prepared by junior team members;
  • Periodic assess completeness and accuracy of accruals and aged trade debtors;
  • Participate and support the external audits;
  • Ensure the adequate internal controls are in place to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure accuracy and reliability of financial records;
  • Manage 6 staff
  • Play an active role in the development of financial reporting and the projects set up to deliver this to enhance overall financial control
  • Seek continuous improvement of financial accounting processes to enable the delivery of an efficient and stream-lined service, documenting changes to processes and procedures

Your profile

  • +5 years of relevant experience
  • Big 4 background
  • A strong background in a financial accounting function preferably in finance or technology industries;
  • Should have experience in partnering with operations teams and department leaders, and have a high level of communication skills;
  • Membership to either Institute of Chartered Accountants or Certified Practicing Accountant bodies well regarded;
  • A self-starter and someone who thrives under pressure;
  • Industry awareness of relevant legislation and practices;
  • The ability to adapt to the role and adjust laterally to business needs; and
  • A high attention to detail.
