Fujitsu has a permanent role for a Senior Storage Engineer to be part of a strong team that is capable of delivering a world class data protection service to new and existing Fujitsu customers. The purpose of the position is to implement, support and document industry best practice and processes that ensure a consistent and repeatable SAN / NAS service, provision of BAU & project level expert support for centralized or remote storage solutions.


  • Assist with the Development, Design and creation or proposal for Storage solutions.
  • Perform analysis, system enhancements and administration tasks.
  • Act as an internal consultant to provide direction on a variety of operational, procedural, and system interface issues.
  • Works within a team with little supervision as an established system / product specialist (e.g. detailed knowledge of the configuration or interlinked systems, implementing technical changes, building software regimes and contributing technically to service development) to support end users.
  • Pro-active incident monitoring and resolution within area of responsibility.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Awareness and adherence to Fujitsu's service delivery processes and methods.
  • There will be a requirement for On Call.

What We Value


  • 3+ years relevant SAN and NAS experience including design, implementation and support.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Netapp and Fujitsu Eternus storage arrays.
  • Experience with fibre channel switching and zoning (eg Brocade, Cisco MDS).
  • Ability to troubleshoot IO performance and monitor disk usage.
  • Working knowledge of data protection and DR site replication (eg Netapp Snap Mirror).
  • Sound understanding of data security and encryption concepts.
  • Experience in managing VMware 5.5+ and Netbackup 7+ is desirable.
  • Experience in Veritas Enterprise Vault is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform hardware replacements and firmware upgrades.
  • High degree of analytical ability to investigate and resolve problems under pressure.
  • Ability to work well in a team, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proactive and reactive.
  • Ability to produce documentation such as high level designs, as built documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Experience of ITIL methodologies to a foundation level.
  • Several years' experience working in a corporate environment.
