ABOUT THE BUSINESS & THE ROLE

Our Client sells metal and invests in smelter operations in Australia. Their ultimate parent is the Japan-based integrated business enterprise and conducts its business worldwide with over 100 branches and offices in 66 countries and regions. 

We are currently looking for experienced Accounting and Administration Officer who will be responsible for functions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, tax return, general accounting procedures, Export documentation management, file maintenance and other general office administration duties. 

To be successful in this role, you will be able to conduct accounting tasks with MYOB, and able to effectively manage a range of duties, including the unforeseen, and be a good fit with their team.

 

JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bookkeeping & Journal entry (MYOB & Excel)
  • Generate monthly Management Report (Balance Sheet / Profit and Loss) (MYOB & Excel) incorporating all business transactions including but not limited to areas in Purchase/Sales/Bank/ Asset/Inventory /Hedging.
  • Generate monthly BAS (GST) Report
  • Generate quarterly PAYG (Income Statement) Report
  • Job sharing and assisting other accounting stuff
  • Prepare payments ( cheques / TT) and Banking
  • Assist certain areas on Export Documentation and data input
  • Assist the manager and team members on various duties.
  • General office administration (Filing / Answering doors and telephones / Mailing / Office equipment maintenance / Photocopying and scanning / Attending to visitors, etc.)

  

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years' Similar experience in Australia 
  • Familiar with Australian Accounting, Bookkeeping Standard
  • Knowledge/Experience in Accounting Software (MYOB)
  • Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent reporting and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Friendly and helpful manner with a 'can do' attitude
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Good command in English
  • Certificate in accounting, bookkeeping
  • Strong skills in MS office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint (advanced)
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Adaptable to change

 

OFFICE LOCATION

This role is in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, very close to many options for public transport.

  

COMMENCEMENT

January 2019 

 

Up to 6-MONTH CONTRACT

This is a contract position for up to 6-month with possible extension.
