Destination Southern Tasmania (DST) is the peak regional tourism body for southern Tasmania. This exciting and challenging role provides a meaningful opportunity to be part of a strong and sustainable regional tourism organisation. You will work directly with the CEO to ensure DST remains a strong and sustainable regional tourism organisation.

This role is integral to DST's operations. It seeks to enhance our marketing and partnership program and develop creative strategies to deliver value to our members, as well as reflect the quality and diversity of southern Tasmanias tourism offering to consumers through our hobart & beyond brand.

In this role, you will work closely with government, members and corporate partners for the betterment of DSTs reputation and commercial position.

You will be creative, bold and ready to challenge the norms.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development of a digital strategy
  • Management of digital assets
  • Coordination of industry marketing program
  • Partnership growth and management

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies across digital, traditional and social media
  • Ability to integrate and enhance a highly professional, dynamic and fun team
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects within timelines and budgets
  • Willingness to be bold and evolve our marketing and partnership activity
  • Work with stakeholders and members to grow the organisation.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Minimum three years marketing experience in the tourism or events sector
  2. Demonstrated experience in developing, evolving and implementing marketing strategies
  3. Demonstrated ability to grow and manage corporate and government partnerships
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a small team environment and what you will bring to this
  5. Understanding of database systems, new software related to social media and website maintenance and monitoring (experience with Wordpress an advantage), and reporting tools
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and the capability to identify and foster relationships
  7. Ability to work autonomously and a capacity to make decisions with or without the direct guidance of a supervisor
  8. Capacity and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects within budget and timelines.
