Within a caring, creative and connected school community, you will bring the skills and passion to help shape Green Umbrella into the perfect place for kids to thrive outside school hours.

About the role
This is a great opportunity to bring to life our new out of school hours care program as it launches in Term 1, 2019. You assist in the effective operation of the after-school care program, which will initially run 3 afternoons a week. The Educator/worker will:

  • Work cooperatively under the direction of the OSHC Coordinator and the Green Umbrella committee
  • Provide educational, creative, recreational & fun experiences for children at the service
  • Play with and supervise children ages 5-12 
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents and the co-ordinator of the service.
  • Undertake administrative, documentation, food preparation and cleaning tasks as required
  • Adhere to the National Quality framework, law and regulations
  • Be Committed to the Protection of Children

Initially the position is 11 hours per week, with face to face care 3 to 6pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

About you

We are looking for a caring, creative and fun person to deliver quality supervision and care to children and families. You will be part of our new, small (licenced for 30 children) part time (3 days a week initially) not for profit out of school hours care service.

You will have 

  • Skills in connecting and communicating with children and families
  • Relevant qualifications or working towards same desirable
  • Experience working in an OSHC service and working with children aged 5 to 12.
  • Emotional maturity and stability

In addition, you will have:

  • A current Working with Children Check
  • First aid, anaphylaxis and asthma certificate
  • Evidence of completed Child Protection Training
