 The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for servicing directly with the Japanese customers and preparing authentic Japanese cuisine such as Sushi and Sashimi. If you are passionate about the traditional Japanese Cuisine and have prior experience as a Japanese Chef, we invite you to apply now.

  • Prepare authentic Japanese cuisine (Sushi, Nimono, Mino Soup, Sashimi and many more) for mainly Japanese customers 
  • Keep up with industry trends and create new recipes 
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with recipe specifications
  • Stock control and monitor food wastage
  • Clean and maintain a hygienic work environment at all times
  • Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen
  • Follow HACCP and AQAI procedures 


  • Native Japanese with permanent residency visa or Japanese born with Australian citizenship 
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Japanese Chef in a full-service restaurant or production based facility
  • Relevant qualifications (Degree, certificate and diploma) 
  • Authentic Japanese cuisine experience is highly rewarded 
  • Excellent customer service and communication
  • Motivated and efficient
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced open plan kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP and QSAI procedures
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards


  • Flexible to work on a 7 day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
  • On site car parking is included
