We are currently seeking a qualified and suitably experienced individual with a professional attitude and team approach who can manage and be responsible for the IT Application services of the company, particularly for the SAP environment.

This role reports to the Team Lead, Train Build and is based at Head Office Altona.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages help desk request priorities as related to the Train Build processes in SAP
  • Manages master data requests and data creation
  • Provides timely and accurate resolution of issues and providing regular communication with National Operations and the States
  • Identifies areas of improvement and takes the necessary steps to rectify the situation
  • Develop and maintain documentation and other resources which make up the knowledgebase for the areas of expertise/ensuring findings and outcomes are documented
  • Willingness to learn basic trouble shooting & data validation
  • Be prepared to understand basic company operations/terminology

Knowledge and Experience 

The ideal candidate will be able to display experience in the following areas:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline- Desirable
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively with defined business process
  • Capacity to prioritise work considering the needs and priorities of management and staff, whilst undertaking a variety of tasks
  • Proven ability to communicate with staff and other stakeholders of all levels from technical and non-technical backgrounds
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to customer service and ability to provide a quality service to users in corporate system environment
  • Proven ability to identify improvement opportunities
  • Must be able to work with stakeholders and operational teams to deliver the completed train services for each state
  • Must be able to translate interpret issues and articulate them to the relevant staff within the SCT Group
  • Must have the ability to follow the defined and documented SAP process for the Train Build process
  • Express difficult and complex issues clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Write clear and logical reports, documentation and instructions for process improvements and update of user instructions
  • Work effectively and independently on assigned processes
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with Operational staff
  • Meet established priorities and schedules
  • Learn and apply new concepts in information technology
  • Undertake data administration within SAP as required by the Train Build process
  • Be comfortable with basic computer skills (Excel, Email, Word)
  • Flexibility to work around company rail schedule (weekend services)
  • Be able to perform repetitive tasks within the SAP Train Build process
