About the Service

Sydney Archdiocese provides accommodation and case management support for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the Family & Community Services (FACS) districts of South Eastern Sydney, Inner West Sydney and South West Sydney. The South Eastern Sydney Domestic Violence Response Enhancement service provides after hours intake and support for women with or without children who are leaving domestic/family violence situations.

About the Role

The Practice and Quality Officer is responsible for implementing administrative and quality control systems to ensure Sydney Archdiocese Specialist Homelessness Services comply with all policies and procedures and funding body requirements. Major responsibilities will involve reviewing policies and procedures and assessing their impact on service delivery; liaising with internal stakeholders and providing feedback on the services' ability to fulfil compliance and funding requirements. The role will also lead the SHS teams in developing tools and resources to ensure continuous improvement of service delivery.

  • Relevant degree or diploma in social sciences or community services.
  • Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of quality management systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating and leading multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing policies and procedures.
  • Good organisational and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to relate positively and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, and prioritise work load.
  • Experience in facilitating workshops and preparing and providing presentations.
  • Sound understanding of child protection issues, legislation and requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of WHS legislation as it relates to the workplace.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of client database systems and Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence
  • Willingness to work within the ethos and Mission Statement of the St Vincent de Paul Society and the Societys Code of Conduct.
