The Centre for Eye Health (CFEH) is an initiative of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and The University of New South Wales. It was developed to provide an integrated approach to reducing preventable vision loss from eye disease through early detection. In a world first, the CFEH is a referral facility providing an extensive range of state-of-the-art eye imaging and visual assessment services.

We are seeking an experienced candidate for our Marketing Communications Coordinator position to manage all facets of marketing and communication, both internally and externally. The main objective of this position is to evolve and strengthen awareness for CFEHs services and achievements, and increase incoming referrals by providing a coordinated marketing approach to targeted populations.

This position is a part-time employment opportunity, 24 hours per week, which may be worked over 3 to 5 weekdays. In this position you will be involved in design work, maintenance of social media and websites, developing coordinated targeted campaigns, monitoring and reporting on campaign success and the production of both external and internal newsletters.

You will have responsibility for:

  • External communication to raise the profile of CFEH amongst referrers, the general public and stakeholders;
  • Internal communication to maintain and evolve the existing employee culture and emphasise inclusivity of staff employed across multiple geographical sites;
  • Design work with the aim to produce high quality, professional marketing materials/tools that can be used to promote the functions or achievements of CFEH;
  • Marketing analysis to produce evidence-based feedback for the management team on the success or otherwise of marketing strategies; and
  • Other duties relevant to the positions objective.

To be considered for this opportunity you must demonstrate:

  • Experience in marketing, communications or a similar role (3+ years), including website and/or social media management;
  • Ideally you will possess a relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or similar;
  • Proficiency in InDesign (or similar design program) and Photoshop;
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills;
  • Strong organisational skills and a high level of initiative;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Mature, friendly and able to work as part of a dynamic team in a fast paced environment.
