About the job

The purpose of the position of Technical Officer (Physiotherapy) is to provide a high level of technical support within the dedicated laboratories to students both Undergraduate and Postgraduate as well as Academic and Research staff within the Faculty of Health Arts and Design.

The Technical Officer (Physiotherapy) will be required to utilize a large scope of skills including the use, maintenance and calibration of specialized physiotherapy equipment.

The position works closely with the Manager Technical Services - Health, and academic staff within the discipline to ensure that training and support is provided in a timely manner for all laboratory and clinical requirements. This position provides accurate advice to the Manager Technical Services - Health and the Associate Director Technical Services concerning required purchases of new equipment and laboratory or clinical consumables.

The incumbent will need to possess well-developed organizational, time management and problem solving skills, be extremely flexible, have the ability to use initiative and be responsive to the needs of those that the position directly supports.

The Technical Officer (Physiotherapy) is part of the Faculty technical services team, as well as working closely with multi-disciplinary Physiotherapy and Allied Health teams. As such the incumbent will be required to work collaboratively with a range of staff and students across the Faculty and to successfully operate in a dynamic environment while maintaining a strong focus on great customer service.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
• A relevant degree in physiotherapy, sports science or another related health discipline or significant equivalent industry experience.
• Significant knowledge and demonstrated experience in the procurement, operation and maintenance of a wide range of physiotherapy equipment.
• Well-developed word processing, spreadsheet and database skills. Familiarity with the use of propriety software for laboratory or clinical equipment and systems.
