About the business

Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) is recognised internationally as having a critical role in children's development and important economic and social benefits for families and communities. Good quality ECEC services play an important part in the economic and social fabric of communities in the Wheatbelt region, which is a key agricultural production and food security area of Western Australia.

REED Inc was established in March 2018 and the new Board and General Manager have been appointed.  We are now ready to appoint an Admin and Accounts Officer to work closely with the Finance Officer and Finance Manager to support REED's implementation across the Wheatbelt. It is envisioned that the position will primarily be based in Narrogin.
 

About the role

Your key priorities will be:
    Reception duties including greeting guests, answering phone calls and responding to emails
    Manage REED Inc website
    Processing new enrolments
    Provide information for financial planning, budget development and financial management systems.
    Assist in the development of administration policies and management processes.
    Plan and manage staffing documentation.
    Meet statutory and regulatory requirements regarding corporate, financial, legal and ECEC service areas.
    Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information within the business to facilitate transparency and consistency.
    Assist with the completion of BAS and debt management. Monitor costs and expenses to assist in budget preparation and monthly accounts reconciliations.
    Establish and manage an effective records management system to ensure corporate records are adequately maintained.
    Complete payroll, accounts payable, fees, debt management, ensure adequate office supplies and overall office administration.
 

Benefits and perks

The position is a fulltime 2-year fixed term contract with the possibility of extension. The salary is up to $51,178 depending on level of qualifications and/or proven experience. Conditions will be in accordance with the Clerks Private Sector Award 2010, but it is envisaged that a REED Enterprise Agreement will be developed in the future which would include all REED employees.

Skills and experience

ESSENTIAL
    Proven experience in administration.
    Competence in working with Myob (or similar).
    Drive and commitment.
    Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

DESIRABLE

    Knowledge and understanding of ECEC policy and practice and the complex environment in which ECEC operates.
    Knowledge and understanding of the rural and regional context in which Wheatbelt ECEC services operate.
    An analytical mind with problem solving skills.
    Cultural awareness.
    WA police clearance and Working with Children check.
