Facilities and Fleet Maintenance Officer (Part-time role, equivalent to 3 days per week)

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and committed individual to ensure continued maintenance and safety of all our facilities including fleet vehicles. As we are a disability service provider, this person will ideally have a sound understanding of a person centred approach to delivery of services and be supportive of Koomarris vision and the services we provide. This position will initially be a part-time role on a three day week basis.

The Role

The Facilities and Fleet Maintenance Officer will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the co-ordination and record keeping of all assets including buildings and fleet maintenance of our operations across all sites.  This would include the coordination of repair and maintenance work and managing maintenance contracts such as those related to fire equipment and test and tagging operations. 


The key performance areas of this position are to:

  • Ensuring all regular maintenance, repairs and upgrades of assets, buildings and fleet are scheduled and completed to high standards of safety and cleanliness;
  • Ensure fully functioning security and safety mechanisms where required;
  • Coordinate adhoc and or emergency maintenance and repairs;
  • Maintain all records of maintenance and repairs;
  • Administer sound procurement practices, including maintenance of a procurement register;
  • Negotiate, implement and administer multi-site service contracts and agreements;
  • Maintain and update asset register;
  • Contribute to Koomarris strategic objectives;
  • Maintain good working relationships with management, staff, contractors, vendors and other stakeholders;


Selection Criteria

  1. Knowledge of building and security systems;
  2. Ability to negotiate service delivery and contracts with a range of contractors and suppliers;
  3. Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, Acts, Codes and Regulation in relation to building compliance and vehicle safety;
  4. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make sound decisions with direction from management;
  5. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  6. Ability to liaise with third parties and maintain strong mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders and providers ensuring contractual requirements are met;
  7. Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and project planning skills through experience.



  • 2+ years experience/proven track record in a similar facilities and or fleet management role.


It is essential that applicants hold a current ACT or NSW drivers license and obtain a working with vulnerable people general registration to fulfil the role.
