Third Horizon Consulting is a Management Consulting firm who specialise in strategy execution. We have offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra, and are currently seeking exceptional individuals to join our Industrial & Consumer Products practice in Sydney.

Since forming in 2004 we have developed a reputation for bringing a unique mix of strategic insight, combined with a pragmatic hands on approach to implementation. We partner with our clients to design and deliver complex transformation programs, which rely on a range of capabilities spanning strategy, operating model, analytics, program management, technology, co-design, culture, and change.

We have a diverse client base who engage us for highly varied work. Some examples of Industrial and Consumer Products projects we have delivered in the past year include:

  • Production step change for a specialty food manufacturer in the health industry;
  • Distribution footprint optimisation for an international steel solutions business;
  • Procurement cost-out diagnostic for a major Australian grocer;
  • Cost to serve and pricing realignment for a large construction products distributor;
  • Product life cycle management and rationalisation for a private equity owned baked good business;
  • Revenue growth strategies for a transport client undergoing major industry disruption; and
  • New market entry opportunity analysis for an alcohol industry client.

As part of the Third Horizon team you will lead or form an integral part of a project or work stream, working in close collaboration with the client.  You will manage the relationship with the client in your area of focus and will have access to our library of IP, tools and templates to facilitate the delivery of your work.

What we are looking for

We are looking for experienced individuals with a background in Industrial and Consumer Products, and a proven history in delivering results. We have provided our base level expectations for applicants, which are required before consideration for an interview:

  • At least 3 years management consulting or internal strategy & transformation experience within Industrial Products, FMCG, Grocery, Retail, Sales or Marketing sectors. As an example, we would expect experience to include any of the following types of project work:
    • Manufacturing efficiency and workforce productivity
    • Supply chain (including logistics) optimisation
    • Commercial and/or operational due diligence
    • Revenue and pricing strategy
    • Benchmarking and/or advanced analytics
    • Business transformation and change
    • Digital disruption and customer service improvement
    • Business process design and optimisation
  • Highly developed analytical skills with a passion for solving complex business problems
  • Well-honed presentation and facilitation skills
  • Proven time & project management skills
  • Ability to cultivate strong senior client relationships
  • Tertiary education (bachelors degree minimum) with strong academic results (preferably in a STEM field)
