Opportunity for senior Paediatric OT to broaden their experience and join expanding private allied health practice providing community based therapy to children and teens with a range of disabilities. Experience with sensory processing disorders is preferred.

Grade 1 OT's with at least 1 years paediatric experience may be considered.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct assessments formal and informal and provide high standard evidence based therapy goals and interventions
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate Occupational Therapy services to consumers using a family centred, strengths-based approach for children and teens.
  • Deliver individual service plans and skills training for people moving to independent living
  • Provide individualised care and interventions
  • Support children and families participation and process of transition in all community ADLs, including kindergarten, childcare and schools
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to achieve desired health outcomes
  • Promote service and functions to the community
  • Implement fine and gross motor interventions, sensory modulation, and behaviour management.
  • Develop, conduct and implement paediatric group consultations based on pre-decided goals.
  • Develop and present high-quality education and training sessions, tailored to the intended audience.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and ability to provide services and supports within the parameters of the funding available.
  • Supervise and Grade 1 OT, assistants, volunteers and students

Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy 
  • AHPRA registration
  • significant OT experience within a community setting
  • Experience in goal setting, assessment and intervention for children and teens with complex needs and disabilities
  • Demonstrated experience in family and person -centred models
  • Experience in supervision of Grade 1 OT and undergraduate students
  • Experience in the preparation and presentation of professional educational material for health professionals, students, education staff and carers
  • National Police Check and Working with Children Check
