About the Role
This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned media and public affairs professional to be part of the exciting EPA vision as it delivers on key government objectives, to protect the environment and the community.

The Manager, Public Affairs and Communications will lead a high-performing team and respected function within the organisation to develop and execute innovative communications strategies to support the EPAs goals.


Primary purpose of the role
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Public Affairs and Communications team to align with the strategic positioning of the EPA. Protect the agencys reputation through issues management, communication planning and the design and delivery of effective communications strategies. Work with the EPAs various business units, key ministerial staff, media and other NSW Government agencies to provide strategic advice on complex and sensitive issues requiring comment or input by the EPA.

Essential requirements
Tertiary qualifications in communications or a related field.
Strong understanding and experience in media management and other communication channels including social media, in a high-volume environment.
Expertise in contentious issues management, communication planning and stakeholder engagement
Demonstrated extensive experience in the development and implementation of communication and stakeholder strategies targeted at building a strong and distinctive brand and reputation.

 

Job Notes: A Recruitment Pool may be established for future ongoing and temporary roles with similar focus capabilities. The Recruitment Pool may be available to hiring managers from the EPA, OEH and other NSW Public Sector agencies over a 12-month period.
